Remembrance Sunday - an opportunity to remember the service and sacrifice of all those that have defended our freedoms and protected our way of life. We remember the Armed Forces, and their families, from Britain and the Commonwealth, the vital role played by the emergency services and those who have lost their lives as a result of conflict or terrorism.

 The festival starts on Thursday with a special fundraising concert.  On Friday, Saturday and Sunday there are  over 50 events including an English barn dance, storytelling for adults and children, concerts, craft fair, artisans, music and other stalls, exhibitions, shows, dance displays, folk clubs, Morris dancers, Appalachian dancers, Slovakian Dancers, sing-a-rounds and...

 It has been a hugely successful year for Tenterden-based Heart of Kent Showe Choir, who have continued to woo and delight audiences. On Friday 13 th October “Pretty in Pink” at the Little Silver Country Hotel Tenterden, the hearties will perform bespoke arrangements of inspiring and popular songs.

The Kent and East Sussex Railway is one of the country's finest examples of a preserved rural light railway. The railway’s beautifully restored steam locomotive and carriages will take everyone on a journey through the beautiful Wealden countryside to Bodiam.

Smallhythe Place National Trust House and Garden open Wednesday - Sunday (and normally Bank Holiday Mondays too). The tea room is open 11am-4pm).   Smallhythe Place is the former home of Victorian actress Dame Ellen Terry
