JOIN US TO LIGHT THE TOWN'S BEACON Thursday 6th June

To mark the 80th Anniversary of D-Day, the Town Beacon on Tenterden Recreation Ground will be lit at 9.15pm on Thursday, 6th June 2024. Residents are invited to start arriving at the Beacon from 8.15pm. 

 

Programme

• Arrive at 8.15pm
• 8.30pm The Heart of Kent Show Choir & Ruby Sisterz will be providing music entertainment
• 9.15pm the Town Mayor Councillor Sue Ferguson will read out the International Tribute whilst the Beacon is being lit by the Freemen & Freewoman of Tenterden
• 9.25pm prayers from Rev. Lindsay Hammond & Rev. Jeanette Kennett 
• 9.30pm listen to wartime music until 9.45pm
• 9.45pm thank you for coming - the Town Mayor
• 9.50pm closing of the event
