1940's Weekend at Kent & East Sussex Railway Tenterden

A whole weekend of pure nostalgia, recreating the sights, sounds and fashions of the 1940's

Trains will be leaving Tenterden every 45mins (8 trains per day).  Take a step back in time with a visit to the K&ESR - experience the 40's lifestyle as the railway turns back the clock to wartime Britain. Why not join in the fun and come in your own 1940's finery!  Enjoy live music at Tenterden and Bodiam, Vintage stalls, period civilian and military vehicles, 40's hairstyling and keep a look out for 'Viv the Spiv' with his black market goods!  Collect your free identity card before immersing yourself in the nostalgic 40's atmosphere created by the re-enactors, live performers and authentic 1940's displays.

A variety of attractions are planned for each station, re-enactors lindy hoppers and 1940's singers will be performing throughout the weekend.

‘Viv the Spiv’ will be in residence, Ministry of Food Cooking Demonstrations, Welcome back to RAF Operations Room, free identity cards for each visitor, 40’s hairstyling by Belle’s Parlour, Vintage Stalls including Ruby Jo Retro, Desert Rats, Royal Navy Beach Head Commando, The Fire Service Preservation Group, 1940's Corner Shop, Period civilian, and military vehicles and much more.

A limited amount of Platform tickets will be available on the day, Adults £6.00 and children £4.00 Tenterden station only. £4.00 Adults and £2.00 children at Bodiam station only. But why not catch the train for a fully inclusive freedom ticket for the whole day.
